Nutrition and movement for real life.

I’m Phe, a Nutritional Therapist and Personal Trainer. I help people improve their energy, health and strength through practical, plant-forward nutrition and realistic training that fits around work, family and everything else.

I also run WinuSoft, my WordPress development agency. That is where I learned to look at the whole system, find what is actually causing the problem and make changes that work.

Eat More Plants

Nutritional Therapy

Practical, plant-forward nutrition for better energy, health, training and recovery. Evidence-informed, not rule-bound. No perfection, no purity tests and no fear of a food group. The aim is to help you eat in a way that works for your body and your actual life.

Train with Me

Personal Training

Build strength, confidence and capability, with fuelling and recovery treated as part of the programme. Whether you want to lift something heavier, ride further or get up the stairs without it feeling like a workout, we start with what you can do now and build from there.

WordPress, Oxygen, Breakdance, WooCommerce and custom code. I’m the person people call when a website has a problem nobody else can pin down.

Experience & qualifications

My journey through the years

It is all the same job, done in different places: look at the whole system, find what is actually causing the problem, change one thing that matters, then check whether it worked.

2010

Where it started

I started WinuSoft

After working in systems administration, I set up my own WordPress development agency and have run it ever since. Professional WordPress development with Oxygen, Breakdance, WooCommerce and custom code, plus technical support, documentation, testing and bug reporting — usually the difficult website problems nobody else wants. Fifteen years of debugging other people's websites teaches you to be sceptical of the obvious answer and patient with the boring one.

The unglamorous bit

I was tired all the time

Training too much, eating too little, sleeping badly and carrying more stress than I admitted to. Getting out of that took time, food, rest and a lot of reading, and it left me genuinely curious about how energy, recovery and health fit together.

Nutrition

Nutritional Therapist, The Health Sciences Academy

My first nutritional therapy qualification. This was the point where reading about nutrition became formal training.

Nutrition

Plant-Based Nutrition, University of Winchester

A deeper look at how plant-forward eating patterns can support health, training and recovery.

Nutrition

Level 4 Nutrition for Weight Management & Athletic Performance

I took this one for entirely selfish reasons: I wanted to know how to fuel myself and my husband properly on long mountain biking adventures. It turned into the practical side of working with clients on performance, body composition and habits that hold up over time.

Plant-Based Nutrition, Center for Nutrition Studies

Another pass at plant-based nutrition from a whole-food, evidence-based perspective.

Fitness

Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer

Two qualifications, two weeks apart. The first teaches you how to coach people safely in a gym; the second lets you design and deliver full personal training programmes, with fuelling and recovery treated as part of the plan, not an afterthought.

BSc Nutritional Therapy, University of West London

In progress. A full degree to bring the clinical, research and practical sides together.

Now

Where I am heading

More time outside, with people

I have spent enough hours behind a screen. I am an outside person now — I want to be cycling to client meetings, cooking up ideas for PT sessions, and working with people in kitchens, gyms and hills. Nutritional therapy and personal training are the work I am building. WinuSoft is still here and still good, but the direction of travel is away from the desk and towards the real world.

The common thread

I like understanding how things work.

Websites, bodies and training programmes are all complicated systems. You look at the whole picture, notice the patterns, ask better questions than “what is the quick fix?”, and find the change most likely to make a difference. Then you check whether it worked.

My interest in nutrition began in 2013, for the least glamorous reason possible. I was tired all the time. I was training too much, eating too little, sleeping badly and carrying more stress than I admitted to. Getting out of that took time, food, rest and a lot of reading, and it left me genuinely curious about how energy, recovery and health fit together.

Sustainable progress beats perfection, every time. Perfection is also extremely boring.

Why

This is what the work is for.

I don’t want fitness that only exists in a gym. I want to ride further, climb hills, carry my bike over obstacles and still have enough energy left to enjoy the view. Strength, nutrition and recovery are what make that possible, now and for the decades ahead.

Most weekends, that means a forest, a hill, two bikes and my husband. It is also why I’m gradually building a working life that involves more time with people and outdoors, and less time behind a screen.
